General Policies

Choosing a Class

The age recommendations outlined for Kindermusik classes have been carefully constructed to best group children, considering both their age and developmental level.  Therefore, it is important that your child be at least the minimum age by the start of the semester for the class in which you are enrolling.  If you have concerns about your child?s success in a particular age range, I am happy to discuss your child?s needs and to work with you to place him in the class best suited from him.

Free visits

At certain times throughout each session, I am happy to schedule a free visit in one of my classes.  Please call me to schedule this in advance.

Enrollment Confirmation

A registration form and payment must be received before enrollment can be confirmed.  You will receive a phone call or e-mail within two weeks to confirm your registration.

Non-enrolled Siblings

Due to the delicacy of younger class settings, Village and Our Time classes can only accommodate non-enrolled siblings when the sibling is young enough to stay contented in a car carrier or stroller, or old enough to occupy themself in a manner that will not disturb or endanger enrolled students.  Emergency situations are considered individually.

Making the most of Kindermusik Classes

Plan to arrive 5 ? 10 minutes early for class.  Arriving a little before class provides time for your child to settle in to the musical environment as they enjoy exploring instruments, reading books, or listening to music.  If possible, avoid arriving more than 10 minutes before class starts, as toddlers may become bored during the down-time and invent their own entertainment!  To prevent toddler muggings, messes, and/or class stampedes, we do request that toys, juice cups, and pacifiers be kept out of sight, and that snacks be finished prior to class.  Be sure to dress comfortably.

During Class

You are the center of your child?s universe? their most important and influential teacher.  The best thing you can do for your child is to be an active and patient role model.  They will copy what they see is important and interesting to you.  It is not uncommon for a child to attend several classes before learning class routines and feeling comfortable in Kindermusik.  Don?t be discouraged ? what a child absorbs in class is often first evidenced in the comfort of their home environment rather than in class. 

By the way, I love for parents to visit before or after class, but not during class time, please!  When you are active, focused and enthusiastic about our class activities, your child will model your actions and focus more fully also.

What if?

There is a lot of purposeful stimulation going on in a Kindermusik lesson. If your child becomes over-stimulated or over excited, you can help them by picking them up, touching their ear or by their eye, and saying, "Listen! Look! What's going on? It's music time!"

Also, our children are still learning about being part of a group. It is always okay to step out of class for a minute with a little one who needs time to regroup, and to come right back in as soon as you are ready!

Home Materials

You and your child will benefit enormously from the Kindermusik experience, especially if you make active use of your At Home Materials.  Frequent reinforcement at home throughout the week makes all the difference in a child?s comfort and participation in the classroom.

Refund Policy

KoTB Refund Policy

Materials deposits are not refundable once materials are opened, but unused tuition is refundable if we are notified in writing or by email 2 weeks prior to the start of the class.

Registration fees are non-refundable.  In the event that a registration discount was offered, early withdrawal will nullify the discount.

In the event that a class is cancelled by the instructor, a make-up class will be added to the end of scheduled classes at the same day and time normally scheduled, or you will be offered the choice of a refund or future class credit.

If a child misses a class during a semester, that class can be made up during the same semester at another day and time when the same unit or another, age-appropriate unit is offered.

In the event a class does not run for a semester, all money paid for that class will be refunded or applied toward another class or semester if the parent chooses. 

ABC Refund Policy

In the event that a student withdraws from Ivy Prep Learning Center, Kindermusik of Tampa Bay will refund the following:  Tuition and materials fees for upcoming Units, provided we are notified in writing or by email 2 weeks prior to the start of the class.  Un-used tuition from current unit beginning 2 lessons from the date notice is given. A $10.00 processing fee is non-refundable.

4 and 8 month discounts will be cancelled in the event of early withdrawal.
